Colour change - would welcome feedback

I have a 1989 Porsche 911 3.2 Carrera Targa Sport in good to excellent condition.
It has the original Grand Prix White colour which to my eyes is stark and lacks any character.
Am thinking of a colour change to Light Ivory (6404) which as a slight yellow look to it.
I would value any opinions and comments from the membership - positive or negative thoughts would be appreciated.

White is more popular colour nowadays than it had been for ages and was back then, so for originality to your car, maybe stay white. Ivory is nice too and Chiffon White

Your car so your choice but my two pennies..

Why respray a car which as you describe is good to excellent condition.. I would understand a colour change on a resto but on an "excellent" car you will totally devalue it....

Have you look at other options ? like a full wrap for example (if you are looking at respray I would assume a proper job with glass out etc so a full wrap will be a lot cheaper - and is easily reversible..)

If you want to add some character, as it is a Carrera, you could look at putting some colour accents to your car (like the Carrera side stripes in blue or red and have your Fuchs centres done the same color).

But as said, your car, your call, interested to see either way what you decide to go for...

Whereas it is important to he be happy with your pride and joy I would keep the car as original as possible. Respray areas when necessary but in original colour as you may well struggle to sell it for a decent price when the times comes if you've changed its original spec. I agree with fxm911, consider adding a Porsche/Carrera door stripe or black stone chip guard (like mine has), less is more.

Hi - appreciate the reply which does make sense, especially on the originality point. Would you send over a side picture of your car so I can see the door strip?

I don't have a door strip, just black chip guards (see pic).
