Collected my Cayman on thursday and drove the length of the UK to bring it home. After 10 hours i was still grinning ear to ear[
] despite a large stone cracking the windscreen and denting the bonnet [
] about an hour into the drive.
The car averaged 27.5 mpg overall in varied conditions. A great car which offers the driver a comfortable crusier with excitment in the extreme when pushing on a little.
The OPC had prepared the car (six months old with 3000 miles) to a good standard and were accomodating and collected me from the airport as arranged, but have overlooked several things including supplying the car with the wrong service book (chassis number wrong on the sticker) no instruction booklet for the PCM, no locking wheel nut key and despite asking for them to program the cental locking to lock when pulling away, nothing happens. I phoned them 2 days ago and have yet to be called back.
The sat nav was excellent on the way home despite the map freezing up once or twice, and it avoided all the major hold up's, and the hands free telephone appears to work very well. The rear hatch sqeaks like crazy and will have to go in and be adjusted when the windscreen is replaced.
All in all love the car, a little dissapointed with the minor problems encountered, but will sort them all in the next week or two.
