coin size spacer in ball joint kit

hi folks ,

i'm new to this forum - i have purchased a ball joint rebuild kit for my alloy arms on my turbo
IT came with a small coin size spacer i cannot find a place for. I see on the US kits which look a lot better quality in (brass !) that this item is not contained.
I got this part from type 911 who have no idea - which is not a very good indication ...

anyway if anybody has an idea for this little spacer -it would be much appreciated

on the picture it's the right hand small bit :)

cheers chris

Looks like its supposed to fit between the socket and the ball - probably to provide a sort of one-way-valve for the grease coming in from the nipple (if you add one).

Haven't seen that earlier. I don't like kits with plastic parts. I prefer this german made kit.

HI

thanks for the reply - it was your topic which made me tick.
Are you saying that the cup in your kit is not nylon -?

If, as the other memeber suggests, we say this small washer goes between ball and nylon it will eat though in no time as edges are rough and the fit is 'less than approximate'
i still cannot guess why a supplier likke type 911 would supply something without a diagram - or at least know themselves which way it goes.
Would you believe they told me to go to this forum to find out how ................

thanks for the help chris

and the source of those parts ??

intrigued - i think i will return the other parts to TYPE 911 - that's just not good enough

cheers chris
