please could anyone tell me which way round the clutch plate on my 964rs should go.i know it sounds strange, but i had to change the gearbox input shaft seal.when i had seporated engine/gearbox,i thought i would check clutch for wear e.c.t.
in the meantime lost scrap of paper with scribble on it showing which way round clutch plate went.i would be pleased if anyone could help me with this, thank you

I don't know...sorry..........poor show as a highly technical forum that no one has replied......SO GUYS WHICH WAY PLEASE......(Laurence?).......or.Call Colin Belton 9Meister

conventionally the larger projecting boss points towards the clutch release bearing. Sorry should hve answered sooner. Guess you've sussed this already.

Thank you for your help.I have phoned 9m and spoken to a chap there, who said that the larger boss points toward the flywheel. He said unlike the convensional way round.
Hope this is right,As i can not find any pics in any books/cd's e.c.t. showing the correct way round.

I have done this but it's so long ago I cannot remember. I would have to bow to 9m's experience but I can't think why it should go the other way . Don't suppose they explained why? Also have you tried the disc against the flywheel both ways round?

that's a neat link.I hope it stays up for a while. But unfortunately the manual does not show the clutch plate. Porsche PET does but i am not sure I would rely on that particular drawing.

The chap i spoke to a 9m siad that if the large boss was facing the pressure plate, when the clutch peddle was pressed the clutch plate would rub against the pressure plate.I have fitted it round this way,and reinstalled the engine/gearbox in the car.All seems to work o.k.Thanks again for all your help.White rs's are just the best.
