Club Night 4th April Detailing Talk

Hi folks,

Just a quick note to let you all know what's going on on Wednesday.
I am aiming to start at about 8p.m. and hopefully we will be in the Marquee. I am going to organise a seperate room for the ladies so that they can talk about grandchildren, Marks and Spencers, Zumba classes (whatever they are) and their latest pair of shoes and won't be bored to tears by me.

There is however one exception to this-

SOME SAY that her blood consists of Dot4 brake fluid and that her jewellery is made from recycled GT3 con rods- All we know is that she is called LISA JACKSON[]

Mark, for some reason, has publicised this as being a humorous, entertaining event so I thought that I would kick off with 10 mins of stand up comedy followed by donning basque, suspenders and high heels to give a tribute to Lisa Minelli in the famous West End show 'CABARET'

In fact- stuff the detailing business- I'll just do the Lisa Minelli routine!!![]
PS have any of you ladies got a size 18 basque I can squeeze into?

Trying to be serious just for a minute- I hope to tell you all a few things you didn't know, along with some that you do. I will be bringing a selection of equipment and products along together with some test panels so that you can see the results of different procedures and polishes/ waxes etc

Hope I don't turn up to an empty room!!!

Sorry can't make it tonight Chris, just setting off for Newcastle and will be late back. If detailing means rubbing your car so hard that you get down to the primer like yours and Tommo's then I'd have given it a miss anyway!!! See you all Sunday ? John

John Thats why we have Silver motors, cos the primer is the same color, [] I can appreciate having a Blue motor you can't use a bit of elbow grease (as its easy to go through) to get the same shine as Chris & myself [8D] sorry you can't make tonight, as you say, hope to see you Sunday Steve

I understand that there was a bit of snow around the Leeds area this morning, but having just spoken to the Woodlands they say it has gone, so we are clear for tonight's meeting. We didn't get any in York and it stopped raining hours ago and the sun almost came out.

Enjoyed the talk last night, Chris, it got me in the mood for detailing the Golf this weekend! Well done and thanks for putting the effort into preparing it and bringing all your detailing stuff along. It was also nice to see everybody again after missing a few club nights and events. Lee, I wasn't there on Wednesday so don't know what Chris recommended, but do know of ph neutral car wash. I got some from the Poor Boys range and then discovered that Auto Glym bodywork shampoo conditioner is also ph neutral - the AG product is the cheaper option. Paul

Lee, I can't remember which shampoo Chris had, it was probably the Zymol one which if anything like the Swissvax one is damned expensive, although very nice. As Chris said, the products you use are very much down to personal choice, personlly I dislike the Auto Glym product so wouldn't use it. Halfords do a more run of the mill Zymol car bath, it's green and about £6.99 for 500ml and is pretty good. I have used this quite happily in the past and is what I got to go in the raffle prize.

Chris, Very late in thanking you and your posse of helpers for a fun and informative evening. Could it have been a record attendance, for a monthly meet, too? Must get to it and clean my car in more detail, to 'draw attention away from those defects'. Maybe Donnington is the incentive, so I don't show all you others up. Paul.
