I was a bit surprised I got anything at all... []
I read about the regional meeting with 'street class' concours on the forum. I thought I would go along as I've never been to a meeting in 10 years of membership(!). When we arrived someone asked if I was entering the concours - I said I would - I thought it would be the best way to get involved.
I hadn't prepared the car any differently to normal - just hoovered-out the inside, quick wash and a coat of wax when I got back from Le Mans/Goodwood. Nothing special - definitely no cotton buds involved.
Judging even for street was a lot more detailed than I would have anticipated - checking for cleaned wheel arches, polished wheel rims, cleaned interior even sun-visors, under the interior mats, into the depths of the luggage compartment, correct tools, spare wheel and compressor, and service log (all of which I hadn't done or brought with me). I gather you also lose points for non-original mods.[&:]
There was a line of very well prepared and great looking cars there on the night. I almost fell over when my name was called for third prize! Received a nice little engraved glass trophy!
Just to let you boys know, as I was handed my prize there was only one thing going through my mind... "The RS guys are gonna love this!! []..."
P.S. Most interesting car there on the night, in my opinion (it wasn't in the concours) was a 1967(?) 911T-R - the original Porsche 911 Lightweight (pre 73 carrera RS). At only 900kgs it makes our RS's seem a bit lardy.

At R31 concours, we did not take into consideration the originality bonus points or the custom/modifiation points. It was just a straight concours with all the other points on the judging sheet. And anyway this would have made two classes, we did not have enough time or cars to separate the classes.
You obviously keep your car in very good condition, well done Rich!![
