Hi all
I was just wondering if it was possible to chip an earlynlux 8v? From what I understand you need the later ecu so the chip is removable.
So the question is " isn't possible to fit he later ecu in the early car?"
Cheers
Tim
Ps just looking for a little more go but hoping for a little more mpg as well!

I am lead to believe that you can, if you swap both the DME and the AFR for post mid-85 on versions - I think Clarks Garage specifies which part numbers they need to be in order to work together, and am sure a that the likes of Alasdair/Elliot on this forum could provide you with a matching pair from a running engine......

Alternatively, wait to see the results of barks944's experiments with his custom built DME - very interesting even if some of us only understand part of what he's going on about !

Idle stabilisation valve under the inlet manifold, that's the only one that is different but I think the later cars had an extra one or two.
