cheap sill repairs near Derby

Hello,

I recall reading a thread where someone had their 944 sills repaired for a very reasonable price by a garage near Derby. There was a whole sequence of photos showing the work done - I think the car was red, if that helps to jog someone's memory.

I've tried searching for this thread but failed. Can anyone please point me in the right direction, or just tell me the name of the garage.

Many thanks,

Will

Call PH Sportscars at Shardlow 01332 799298 or Kirkmans 01332792086

Both are part of the same business and their address is the British Waterways Yard, Cavendish Bridge, Shardlow. The yard is not far from the junction of the A50 south of Shardlow and as you drive towards the village there is a bridge with traffic lights on it turn right before reaching the lights and right into the yard. They may now pass you on to a bodyshop but they will save you a decent amount of dosh.[;)]

It will have been Cavendish Classics, in all likelihood. Theyre based in Pauls old garage unit in the British Waterways yard, alongside where his business is based now in Alan Kirkmans.

Many thanks gentlemen, that was the company I was thinking of.

I'm not looking to go myself, but someone has expressed an interest in my 944. The question of sills naturally arose, so I was looking for an affordable garage to refer to if necessary.

Thanks again.

I had mine done by JD @ Cavendish 07912123543 - he'll do a good job I think. I paid £500 + parts for a new o/s sill and rebuilt o/s rear suspension mount.

I think the thread you're referring to is James's (J4mou) that was done by a chap near wirksworth. He sounded a bit cheaper.

Thats a fellow called Terry, who can be find in a workshop on the junction of Duke St and Chapel Lane, in Middleton by Wirksworth. Quite a long way from Derby though.

Thanks again - not sure why I thought of Derby, brain fade maybe. Anyway, I've pointed the prospective buyer to this thread so all the information is here for him to read :)

If it was Derby, then it will be Cavendish Classics next door to PH; if it was James' Garnet Red car, then it was Terry in Middleton.
