CHARGING FROM A SOLAR PANEL

Good afternoon,
Years ago I purchased a solar charging panel for my Boxster which had the cigarette lighter facility. I simply placed this panel on the dashboard and I believe it charged my battery?
I have just purchased a 992 Carrera 2 (2019) with a 12v socket and wonder if I can use this solar panel?

Should be OK if we ever get any sun nowadays; also if you can overcome the auto-disconnect system in the normal way - something that does not appear possible in later 992 models.
