Changed my knob!

Just changed the standard leather gearstick on my 997T for the carbon one and I'm quite surprised how much of an improvement it is. It both looks and feels much better- almost worth the capital outlay I would say!

BTW Part No for anyone interested in the upgrade is:-
997 4240 7553 then add the shroud colour code as follows:-
FPP for black, FPQ for stone grey, FPR for beige, FPS for sea blue, FPT for palm green, FQC terracotta, FQD for terracotta, FPU for dark grey/natural, FPV for brown/natural.

I think carbon is a bit overworked in some c**ckpits. For this reason I didn't go for any of the factory carbon packages (not to mention the horrific cost!) but I'm pleased with the gearstick and like it the more I use it.[:)]

Seriously I'm sure there is one listed for the 996. (You can download the parts list from the link on this forum).
I originally enquired about one from an independent retailer but ended up doing a deal with my local OPC for the same price but fitted to the car.

I am trying to get one through GT One, but they do not know if yours is only a 997tt upgrade...
I will ask Porsche...

PS I love also your Yellow color, I think it is fab... I would have gone for Yellow to, but I thought one (Yellow S4 Avant, http://www.audi-quattro.org/scars/phpRegistry/car.php?carid=124) is enough.....

If you ever sell, keep me in mind...
 
Have a word with a clued-up technician at your OPC, I'm a sure a 997 unit can be made to fit a 996, but I can't tell you what (if any) modifications are required - where there's a will there's a way!!![;)]

Thanks for your very kind remarks regarding my car. I had to take a deep breathe when going for speed yellow, but it's growing on me now and after a long line of bronze, blue, grey and silver I thought it time to make a bold statement![:)]

Not thinking of selling just yet. In fact I have said this is the car that I will be buried with (but not yet a while!) - mind you I did say that about my last one too! :ROFLMAO:

Yellow looks lovely in cold/British weather, but it looks even better on a sunny day by some hot sea-side...[:)]
It is the color of sun.... and you will grow to love it even more... also kids love it...
 
The yellow certainly stands out in the murky weather - especially when it's filling your rear view mirror[:D]
