After a year of searching, I've managed to get a set of 987 roof bars along with a Porsche cycle carrier. They work well, I just need to find a suitable roof box. I looked at a Halford 320L box this morning that was too wide for the rails. Does anyone have a box that sits nicely on the rails that I may be able to track down?

Suggest have a look at roofbox.co.uk. I have bought from them before. Fantastic service and their product selector is really good, easily enabling you to find the shape, size, opening, etc you are looking for.

Thule touring S, believe it is now called the touring 100, thats the box I have used on my 987.1 and now on my 991.2. I must first say it is a little ugly, however it fits perfectly. Also its size is perfect for camping equipment, it takes camping chairs, table, foldable bed and the berghaus air 4 tent. It also opens from both sides making it very easy to load items in and out of.
