Either it has been fitted wrongly, or it doesn't fit? If it's the former, the instructions need to be clearer. If it's the latter then get a refund. [8|]
I replaced my hinged armrest with a new 968 tray. It was about £17 from Porsche if I remember correctly, and fits perfectly fine. The only issue is that the phone does fly out of it on "enthusiastic" cornering.
Hi Paul, you don't have a pic of the 968 one fitted do you please? Or a part number?
EDIT
Not to worry found them:
944 552 155 00 1DB - Tray - £12.44 + V.A.T
944 552 161 00 01C - insert - £14.65 + V.A.T.
less 10% if your OPC is friendly like mine

I couldn't image driving without the cassette box lid. Unless your 10 and 2![]()
Totally agree, the arm rest is exactly that. When I had my 944 on long journeys I considered it was essential.

It isnt a 968 part, which causes confusion when thats how its referred to. The cassette box was an option and the tray with a rubber insert was the base spec. My 1987 car had this, being a relatively poverty spec (no height adjustment on the passenger seat).
The 968 name is a completely made up thing.

I removed a dash the other week and I'm sure the glove box sits below it, so there is a void. Rather then cut 2 suit, maybe a new facer panel could be made? Something that we could use an updated clock that don't cost as much as a Rolex
