Carrrera GT Intercooler Removal Help

Can anyone advise on the spark plug replacement procedure for a Carrera GT? ( not the car in the pic..)
It requires removal of the intercooler to access the plugs; 924 Haynes manual ignores the existence of a such an item despite decalring the GT model is covered.....what plugs should be used and are any other service items required.
Also, whilst looking around the engine, I noticed there is a broad copper wire with "U" shaped connector on the end dangling off the distributor housing - shouldn't this be located under one of the housing screws?
[]I am checking the plugs because the engine starts well but is bit erratic recently and can try to stall whilst moving round the drive under load - it doesn't stop on it's own - any ideas welcome! Thanks.

Try Ricky Caesar, the guru of all things CGT (and PCGB register secretary), his contact details in latest Porschefile that came with your PP, he's very helpful.

The intercooler as I understand it is a bolt in replacement for the standard pressure duct, so you should be able to remove the two M6 bolts from the turbocharger outlet flange, then disconnect the overboost (electric) spade terminal followed by the wastegate control line union (17mm nut). I am not sure if the Carrera has the twin butterfly throttle housing, but if it has then from all the photos I have seen there seems to be a jubilee clip of some sort around the short rubber connnectors but if it has the single butterfly, that just pulls off but you might want to think about renewing the O ring and the gasket the other end. Considering the mass of the intercooler I wouldnt be surprsed if there was some kind of suporting bracket somewhere. Plugs are the same as the turbo, Bosch W3DP/W4CS, Beru 14-4CS1 or equivalent. I had some NGK of allegedly the correct heat range in my own turbo and was eminently satisfied with the life of the plug. They are about twice the price of mere mortal plugs though. There should, I believe, be a metal shroud around the distributor cap, and, if it is the braided wire I think it is, then one end earths, as you say, to the body and the other connects to the shroud
