Well thats what Dave said....! [:D]

In other words it was overfuelling ! Today we tuned the car and replaced the Lambda Sensor ! Gearbox oil replaced and new leads

Sensor disconnected and CO meter up the exhaust ! Car was reading 1.3% CO so we backed her back to 0.6% and reconnected the Lambda Sensor !

I must say the MPG was down tword the end of the last tour of duty 2 years ago !

There is nothing but magic trees and No7 special air fresheners coming out of the exhaust !

The car is really going well now - Smooth and refined... Roll on 10pm Wed night ! [;)]

Good luck Donal on your epic trip over here and back for the 50th. I look forward to meeting you and your fresh smelling [:D] car down at Combe on Friday.

Donal,
How do you back the mixture off ? since fitting a chipset and 3 bar FPR to my 220 it is very rich especially at start up, i have opened the AFM and cleaned the tracks and repositioned the AFM wiper ARM...................still rich !
Sulzeruk has mentioned that it may be the cold start sensor (blue plug) which i will change but i am interested on how you adjusted CO reading ?
Cheers Jim.

Well Gents - Car started to run bad.. Mixture was too lean.. We disconnected the ECU until it forgot ...! Then we readjusted teh AFM for a CO of 1% in open loop.. Plugged in teh Lambda probe and teh CO started to fall right off and a hunt came into teh engine... We disconnected the lambda plug once again and adjusted the AFM for 1% and left her on open loop...!

Its now too late to investigate why there is a drift on the CO with the Lambda probe connected... Maybe one of our American buddys can shed some light !

On my AFM there ia a blanking plug that is drilled out to reveal a hex headed screw.. This does the adjusting ! I am not sure if teh UK car has this....!

I am off to teh boat now lads so see yous all tommorrow night... Cant wait

Sorry for not getting back to you Frenchy ... I was trying to get organised for my trip !

Heres how we adjusted the CO on my car - Im not sure if a UK car is the same .. There is an anti tamper plug you take out of the AFM by drilling. We had the AFM out of the car to do this. Then its a long 3mm allen key to adjust. Do a little adjust while the car is at idle then wait until the CO changes .. Let the car run for a further 5-6 mins and make sure the CO dosent change..... Its a slow process in fairness..

Bear in mind that my car is totally standard !

Thanks Again Jim.
