car back home from bodyshop-bulletproof

New member
my s2 came home on sat afternoon after a full respray and quite a bit more,,
apart from welding a plate onto the back pass-side front sill,a lot of surface rust removed and the start of something very nasty when the rubbers were pulled back on the wind-screen,,tiny amount of rust starting bottom left pass side windscreen so this was promptly made good, and a bad repair next to badge on the back right by last owner sorted, and all black plastic trim and wipers were touched in,,need new plates now as they look grubby lol so off to porsche centre-east london to pick up a pair on wednesday..
that was it for the bodywork,,it would seem the other owner apart from me also keeping the car garaged has helped the car, it really seems that our cars are bullet-proof,,
sun-roof was taken back to the metal and many rubber bits like boot key surround were replaced with new items also new headlining with drivers side c-pillar refurbed and both c-pillars re-fitted,,after finding water ingress in drivers side front indicator and sunroof tempremental after the work it became apparent that my electrics needed tideing up alongside a front brake sensor that was broken and replaced,
i will post some pics tommorow and she looks really good, she was finished by top gear with some autoglym polish and a couple of coats of wax,,so very happy with the work and its been a quite an expensive few months with all the mechanical and then bodywork/respray but so worth it when i picked up on sat,,

parked next to the owners 82,x reg 930 turbo also in guards red,,she looked so very good,,pics to follow and front seats re-connallised or re-covered and a wheel refurb next up,,cheers,,j

In respone to Oli's request to bring a 944 next time I will venture out in the refreshed Turbo cab with new hood and revitalised paint.

took the car over to oli this afternoon and took some pics that were too dark and after sorting the camara out i took some more but they dont really do the car justice imho and oli will post them as my computer skills are worse then my spannering and photobucket loses me!
just a big thanks to oli again as my s2 would have probably been with a new owner if he hadnt inspired me to keep her and invest a chunk of change in her and not a different 944 or 968 ie andys turbo, eddys turbo or simons 968,,cheers jason

You made the right decision to keep her, without a doubt. She's lovely.

Oli.
