Hi all, am I correct in assuming this can't be plugged as it is too close to edge of tyre? What are the guide lines, and if not, does anyone know where i can pick up a Falken FK 452 205/55ZR16 91W? I heard they had been discontinued. Found one on mytyres but website seems not quite right...

Suspect you'll be told that's too close to the edge as you fear and new tyre needed. I had the same a couple of months ago on a nearly new toyo. Gutting

Aah ok, as i suspected. Gutting as tyres still have 6mm tread. I have tracked down a falken new on ebay. I guess it is ok just to replace 1 front?

Yes, it can be repaired but no, it cant be repaired with a simple plug.

It needs a proper hot vulcanised repair and its a specialised field. The tyre will need leaving at least overnight where it will be gently cooked in an autoclave.

I can recommend a good firm in Rotherham, but for Kent youll have to Google "hot vulcanised repair" or repairer and find someone closer. There arent many firms that do this, so each company will cover quite a large area. That said Ive always managed to fond someone reasoanbly close when Ive looked before.

In Gods country, expect to pay from £15 upwards. A bargain.

Can't find repair close to me but think i can get a new one for around £65 posted. My only concern is having different wear on fronts as I have had issues with wheel balancing/steering wheel shake before..

What 944 Man said. It can be repaired, but it is a more involved process than a simple plug repair. I have had quite a tyres repaired like this, and they have held up fine, better than I thought truth be told!
