can these ABS wires be removed from barrel socket ?

Further to my post last week had a good look at barrel connector on inner wing and it seems that the single black cable and brown earth wire are moulded into barrel and can't be removed. My problem is the n/s connection on strut where earth has broken off barrel. Please see photo which shows end of barrel I mean , pink arrow points to it.

Can anyone confirm if the wires are moulded in and if so how did they route in factory through inner wing with a barrel connector at each end ?
Thanks

You undo the one on the strut itself and pull the small connectors up, rather than the big end down - hope that makes sense!

Hi Mike
As far as I can tell the sensors from the n/s front connect into the barrel on the strut and the cable from the barrel goes through the inner wing and the other end is the one in the photo , which also has the barrel connector at the inner wing end. Hence my issue is how can you remove it to replace or fix.Hope it makes sense.

The 944 WSM shows these connectors and it appears strut side barrel pops open to access spade connectors. see here for connector 4930 (this is on page 45-8, vol 3 Chassis). The rears show on the following pages - no barrel connectors on those. Hope this helps

Thanks Bruce ,

Yes they do but it is the fixed cable and earth wire at the other end which is the problem ( earth wire has broken off where it enters the yellow plastic connector ) and the ABS loom from strut to inner wing has a fixed barrel connector on each end so can't remove to replace that piece of the loom
On mine the rear has 2 barrel connectors on each side , one on back of disc shield and one on body above torque tube.

The two pull out.You pop the barrel out of its housing ( little clip at the side) then remove it the end you want won't pull out but if you contact Elliot or Alsitair I am sure you could get one for not much cash.

Ok - now I understand!

I've not had the top bits apart, only the lower ones and worked out / thought / assumed, cant remember, that they were "daisy chained" along so I'm now puzzled too!

Finally got the ABS loom from n/s strut to inner wing top out of car , just enough room through inner wing.Tried to drill out where earth wire had broken off but no success so looking for this section of the ABS loom.
