Cambelt covers

Well I guess you learn something new all the time.

Been looking at replaceing my crack rubbishlooking cam covers for a while, so I buy both on ebay and then it turns out Porsche even managed to make 2 version of this simple piece of plastic!!

So if anyone wants to swap a very clean set of covers were the bottom section has a straight top enge for an equally clean set where the bottom section has the U shape in top edge let me know [&:]

 
Yes they did make 2 versions ,87+ rear cover was modified by the factory to allow water pump replacement without taking out the crankshaft pulley.
 
Do you know which was which? with mine being an 88 registered 2.5 its right on the cusp of everything it would seem! I replaced the drivers door shell last week only to find out that even the wing mirrors have 2 different shapes lol

Are you sure ? i know the early cars have different mirror motors and wiring but i thought they all had the same shape.

Some (early?) have a breather on the top and others dont, having an angled vent on the bottom. Guess this change occurred at the same time - or is this another version!
