cam cover colour

Hi
Does anyone know the exact colour (or colour code) of the twin cam cover for the 944S. I assume there is only one colour , cream, as I have only seen this in my travels.
Any help on this matter will be greatly appreciated.

I believe cam covers were originally silver and heat has now turned them cream. Standard flat silver is a German colour often used on wheels. I would have thought any high temp silver paint would be suitable.

Many years ago I went with our ex Register Secretary Martyn Cockram to pickup a new camcover ordered from Porsche and it came in a rather fetching metallic grey. I have no idea how they all turn beige???????

S & S2 cam covers shared the same color. For some reason heat & age turns it it to cream.

This is a press photo taken from septemper 1988 Christophorus. Some of the details are not the same as they were on production engines, like header color and yellow passived altenator wheel etc. Also Purolator oil filters were not used.

Yes Glenn I think you did make this up. However you have come extremely close to the truth.They did in fact get a load of paint from BL,however it was Marina Paint and not Allegro paint.

Dunno, but I resprayed mine with some black smoothrite and it seems to have taken pretty well. A great improvement on the scruffy faded cream colour it was before ...
