buying from the US advice needed.

I have tracked down a 944 ski rack and some other items in the US which I'd like to buy. Problem is I do not have a Paypal account and it would take too long to register one.
What are my options to send money to the US safely ? This is a private individual do i cannot use a credit card unfortunately.

Presumably I can make a Swift transfer from my bank account but are there any other options I could consider ?
