Burning smell when heating operative

Am getting a smell inside the cabin when the heating is operative, it seems more rubbery than oily, but it's not too easy to describe. I tend to cough a bit after a long ride due to this, so it's not ideal. I do have a service booked where this will be looked at, but any input welcome.

Only a guess first port of call it may need a new pollen filter .

But if booked in for a service a good time to get it checked out.

My only thought is the motor that assists the ventilation is breaking down.winding insulation etc failing?

I presume the heater ventilation blower works or is weak?

If all functions are ok then my guess is wrong..

Obviously a chemical is being released which irritates, so bet sorted asap.

Cliff is never wrong! So filters a good place to start, nice and simple diy too, but a visit to a good independent could pay dividends As the problem will be in front of their noses direct!

As always with these issues, let us know so we can learn a bit more.
