BRDC classic Silverstone

I can't see it listed in 'All PCGB Events' in this forum. Could be wrong.
Must admit, I thought it was going ahead.
We are going Porsche club or not.

We will probably go but don't want to take the 2.4S if there is no inner circuit parking. We used to die the retro run in the old Classic but they don't seem to be doing that now.

There is a link on the Silverstone site to a form for an individual display car which would get you onto the infield rather than the public car park.

Does the Club monitor these posts? If so, could someone please give an update on the Club's position regarding this event.

Instead, we have silence.

In previous years the event attracted a large attendance from Club members.

this is the first running of this event...

It is, but this event is so much more like the 'Silverstone Classic' that we all used to enjoy.

Gone are the 'Festival' activities that the organisers thought a good idea for non-motorsport enthusiasts, but it took the event in my opinion beyond what it was intended and clearly failed to work.

The Festival has now been offloaded to 'Car Fest' and back comes true historic racing that many enjoy.

I think many can remember this event as the 'Coys Classic' maybe 30+ years ago.
They were great, just for petrol heads.

Looks like we will be taking the Boxster or the Skoda, not the 911T...

I remember the Coys Classic too — proper petrolhead heaven back then. Hard to believe it was over 30 years ago now.
The Boxster or the Skoda both sound like sensible choices though. Probably better to keep the 911T safely tucked away unless the weather and parking situation are absolutely perfect!

Way back read a story about a classic 911 being removed by a bogus vehicle recovery bunch mid morning…
They found the cars remains.
Public parking area.
