If there is no need for those plugs in the first place why do Porsche go to all that expense of making and fitting them to 10000's of units especially when the bean counters look at every which way to say a few euros here and there!

Surely there is a logical reason why they are there:unsure:
 
I sort of agree, but the reason isn't that obvious. "Intellectuals solve problems. Geniuses prevent them" - not sure if they were designed by an intellectual or a genius! Suggestions for not removing them have included to stop mice climbing up the tubes or noise reduction. Some folks who have removed them have indicated a noise increase but others have not. As I have Extended Warranty I cleaned mine and put them back.
