bonnet release

It depends where the cable broke. If its behind the plastic pull bit in the car take it off, find the end of the wire and pull it with a pair of pliers. If its past the firewall you will have to go up through the front of the car behind the rad... [] find the cable and pull it. Hopefully its just behind the plastic pull in the car.

Thanks young man found the problem today, the platic handle has broken at the piviot, so opened with ease once i pulled it out. Even better replaced the DME relay and car has stopped cutting out every two miles (started on way home from work last night and was the reson wanted to open bonnet) Intrestingly called local garage this morning as got foot injury and didnt want to piss about the car in the pouring rain and gale force winds, they wouldnt touch the car. first time that ever happend to me [] on the up side saved me a heap of money forcing me to look at it myself[;)]

I have found that the plastic handles (and surrounds) are fairly susceptible to breaking. In fact, when my car went in for some (insurance) bodywork at an OPC it came back with a new bonnet release handle (still with the parts bay stickers on it - good final checking work there guys! [>:] ) so I assume they all do that sir. Oli.
