Bonnet Release Spring Broken

The spring on my bonnet release mechanism has broken. This is the small spring on the lower latch where the cable attaches under the bonnet.

Anyone know the part no. as they don't seem to appear in PET or an alternative spring based solution? (as opposed to an elastic band based solution)

Here is what is left of the broken spring if that helps -

Try P H Sprotscars - Shardlow or Elliott and Sulzruk on here, sure one of them will have one for little money.

.... or your local spring supplier. I'm sure something like that could be replaced for pennies if you take it to someone who knows what they are looking at!

Oli.

I've used these guys several times and they've always had the part in stock

They do have a minimum order, you may need to buy a few...

Thank you very much Alasdair.

A lovely spring arrived yesterday and will be fitted shortly - this should stop the countless people that tell me on a daily basis that my bonnet isn't shut properly. [:)]
