Bonnet rattle

Hi All

very quick question......I have a 1998 C2 & when the bonnet is closed if you touch the far right edge of the bonnet lid it rattles. You can gently touch it with your little finger & it moves up & down and makes a knocking sound.
Its not so bad on the left side (offside) - it requires more of an effort.
Just wondered if this was normal or not on 996' s as my Boxster S didn' t do it.
Also my boxster had a red tab on the lever that opens the catch on the bonnet - on the 996 the red tab is not there - is this right ?

There should be a little rubber buffer at each end of the bonnet that screws in and out - this might help stop the rattle, it is supposed to just touch the plastic moulding that the lock is hidden behind, thus precventing vibrations.

and yes there should be a little red plastic cover on the release catch

Definately shouldn' t be rattling & you want the boot fit to be TIGHT as this was one of the vunerable " access" points for wrong un' s to gain access to alarm controls. It should require a good firm shove to click it shut, sounds like a quick visit to your local Porker garage is in order.
