Morning all

Bit of a vague question, but I'm at work and can't see the car, and it's quite hard to describe anyway.

I discovered this morning that some numpty has bumped my car while parked. It must have been at a funny angle, because there's no damage at all, apart from a chunk broken off the surround of the front left hand bumper light. (Not the plastic surround, the actual integral car beneath the plastic surround). The broken bit is white and a bit powdery, not a good look on a black car. It's not a body panel as such, but a kind of composite white material. Similar I think to the turbo rear diffuser, which I also have, and is also cracked and showing the white bit!

My question is, does anyone know if this front part is replaceable in its entirety (at a not too hideous cost)? Or would filler and paint be a better option? I'll try and take a picture tonight to make what I'm talking about clearer...

On a separate note, does anyone know the approx cost of a turbo rear diffuser (fitted where the Lux normally has just an exhaust pipe and a big gap). Perhaps I could replace that too while I'm about it.

It is the bumper itself and is easily replaced, if you are lucky you will get a black one from someone on ebay. Can be had for around £20 I would've thought. The biggest problem you will have is rusted nuts and screws.

I'll have a graze on ebay. Hopefully wouldn't be too hard to get off, as I replaced the bumper lights when I first got the car, and gave the screws a good coat of vaseline before putting them back in. Only had to grind the head off one of them!

If you don't see one advertised ask a seller a question, there must be dozens knocking about waiting for a new owner. I've got one in my garage but it's a 924 bumper.

I did find a passenger's side bumper on Ebay for £25, but having got home and dismantled the car, the break isn't in the bumper - it's in the panel underneath where the lights and numberplate are mounted. (See pic).

This looks like a bugger to replace, and probably quite pricey... [&:] Can anyone think of another way to do it? I couldn't pull the broken ends apart enough so that I could get them to fit back together properly.

PS - yes I know my car needs a clean!

Looks to me like the break is in the bumper, the lights fasten directly into the bumper. It could be easily repaired or get another one off ebay. It is only 2 bolts to remove the bumper but before it comes off completely you will have to disconnect the headlight washer pipe and the light wiring connectors, you may have to loosen the lower valance to get at the bumper bolts.

The £25 bumpers that I found on Ebay were just the plastic sections that go on top with the rubber bump pads, not the whole bumper unit. I'll have another look, and also dismantle more of the car when I can see it in daylight! Thanks for the info.
