Bodyshop near Sevenoaks, Kent or possibly Rugby

Hopefully I will be able to address the rust on front wings and outer sills this year. Can anyone suggest a good place within say 30 mins of me? (sevenoaks TN13) Was hoping to be able to drop by and take a few pictures as the work progresses. I've taken it to Sevenoaks Accident repair centre and they seemed ok but I got the impression they hadn't worked on a 944 before as they did not seem to understand the inner/outer sill setup. Was hoping to find somewhere close that someone had used.

Alternatively, somewhere near Rugby, Warwickshire would also be an option as I work there most weeks.

Cheers Craig.

No personal experience of these guys but they look to be top notch to me http://www.slrestoration.co.uk/approve.htm

Tonbridge Coachworks is the bodyshop used by Porsche Tonbridge, a bit awkward to find first time you go there. Alternativly Motorcare Tunbridge Wells, who would be my first port of call. they're in the industrial estate just off the Pembury bypass, past the big John Lewis Home store.

Cheers Chris, have you used motorcare? Looks nice and close so will definately go and have a chat with them.

PCGB R25 (Kent) go there every year for our car cleaning day, really great guys and always see all sorts of high end cars in there for fixing (AM, Lambo, Porsche etc). Fortunately I haven't needed their services - yet!!

Took the car down to motorcare and had a good chat with Daniel there. Looks like a top notch place but does not seem to cater for the work I need. They pointed out that repairs to rust patches would not be effective from a labour cost point of view and were suggesting new front wings until we found out the price at about £600 each!

Will continue the search and hope to try Swanley Auto centre. Looking for an old school panel beaters rather than panel fitters I guess.. Someone whose hourly labour rate will allow shaping new bits of metal where required. Will keep you posted.

No disrespect to Motorcare though - looks top notch and would def consider them for my daily driver should the need ever arise.

craig,,,,,good luck at swanley,,i pmed you with the guys name and jim [tvrv8] over at tipec refered them to me,,would have taken my s2 there if i was unable to get her sorted local to me,,i believe they know our cars inside out,,,regards jason

Car is in with Eddie at Swanley motors. Went there today and was so impressed with attitude to the work and also other cars they had in that I left the car with them.

Both front fenders and rear quarters being redone as well as outer sills. Will keep you posted and hope to post some before, during and after pics.

nice one craig,,knew jim would be spot on,,certainly would have considered going there if i wasnt able to get my work done locally,,how long is she away for craig? mine just under two weeks hopefully,,good luck,,,j

Yep 2 weeks for mine too. Fits in well as we have things on next 2 weekends so hopefully won't miss her too long!
