Anyone Know? Just saw an F reg e30 and the sunroof looked very simmler. Just a though, as no fought the BMW part will be cheaper.

I wouldn't have thought so mate. I think the beemer one is smaller but even if same overall size, the fixing is different as the E30 is electric tilt (and slide?) but doesn't remove fully like the 944's does.

Would have thought you'd get a 944 one second hand for not too silly money?

EDIT : - sorry chap, just read again you said SEAL not the sunroof - doh! Thought it was a bit daft to think the actual panel would be the same!

IF the seal profile is the same then shouldn't matter. I'm not sure if it's pretty generic anyway as the seal around the panel itself on 944 looks very similar in type to that on my MK1 Golf

If it is the same profile then why not, the sunroof aperture is a fair bit smaller on the E30..........had loads of E30's and i love them !

Just a thought, thought someone in the past may off owned both, or knew. I think golf will be same as Pre 85.5 but would be cheaper and no sought same quantity

Don't know what you mean there, is that really bad predictive text or something? Hard to reply to....

If you think about it, a sunroof seal on a 944 lasts at least 20 years. Realistically, we will be unlikely to do this job more than once in our lifetimes. Unless there's an absolutely definite equivalent, how much saving is worth it on a job like this? If you do find a genuine, cheaper alternative then stick it in the "alternate parts" faq; we've not found a sunroof seal before that's more economical that the suppliers in the faqs, which might tell you something.....
