hiya,,just got my girl back from jon at tower porsche,,had a lot of work carried out including,,,,
big service, cam and balance shaft belts, pulleys, new water pump,, brake fluid, new pads and front discs, new pk6 aux belt,,new drop link at back,,handbrake shoes and cables cleaned, lubed and handbrake adjusted,,x2 front wheel bearings, and some other tiny bits,
i must say the car sounds and drives great and felt totally planted,,,very happy with the work,,wasnt expecting the water pump but jon found play in it so it was replaced immediatly,,
so all good now and back into tower in the very near future for paintwork and small amount of rust issues [touching wood lol],,liked jon at tower very much,,cheers jason p

Jason,

Top result - well done! If it now has a clean bill of health from Jon then it will be a very good car. The work you mention will make it run more sweetly (service), more reliable (new belts) and drive better (new disks, bearings and rear drop link.) It should have made quite a lot of difference, which is great.

The water pump will have cost a bob or two but it's preventative maintenance and can't really be avoided.

I'm looking forward to seeing the old girl again!

hiya,,thanks oli.... yeah with all the previous work in the last 15k miles and this work,,jon feels that apart from a yearly service,,all should be well for a good while,,
also very happy that my paintwork is also going to get sorted shortly, paint shop banged out at present with 997s,,including pics that jon showed me of a 997 that had every panel keyed severly by a nutter who damaged 5 or 6 performance cars in his area cos he "had a bad day".
my girl is driving lovely and wasnt aware of how noisey wheel bearings can be,,thought my pass side glovebox speaker needed attention and believed that perhaps only 8 speakers were working ok instead of 10,,lol,,front discs were pitted so were changed as were pads all round,,,that noise from the back you picked up oli was diagnosed as a droplink and new one was fitted,,so need to do some miles in her at the weekend,,thanks again oli,,regards jason p
