Best oil for 996

Hi All - I've had a 996 for a few years and have always used Mobil 1 oil. Yesterday I went to Halford to get some more but they were out of the size I wanted and they said that Halford recommends Petronas Syntum 3000E - just wondered if others had tried this oil or what would you recommend ?

 
Which viscosity?

I certainly wouldn't go with any of the thinner grades, currently on a 5W-50 in ours.
