Bedford - Last Minute Place

My mate Alex has a car problem (apart from buying a Subaru [;)] )

Doesn't look like he can make Bedford. Javelin have told him that he can transfer his place but it needs to be done today. Anyone interested email me or call me on 07971 873426 (I'm driving to Bristol later so won't be able to speak between 2-4 this afternoon)

Edd has posted about ths event on PH Ed - perhaps cross posting will increase the chances of Alex selling his place? Ive just seen the time and realise that youre probably busy, so I will post it for you if you havent already done so.

hi chas - alex's engine builder has promised him the car back before Friday. (he has made promises before though- how long does it take to do head gaskets and refresh the heads? not 6 weeks! )

drop me a line with your number if you want and I'll ask alex to gey in touch when / if he misses his deadline.

I certainly hope not as mine went into Promax for the very same thing last week and is due back this week in time for Bedford.

After 210,000 miles the headgasket was showing signs of deterioration so I am glad I bit the bullet when I did. Andy said the bores look absolutely fine (pictures to follow) and I'm looking forward to a noticeable improvement with new valve guides and seals in the head.

it's a bit more involved on a subaru but still a very poor job.

Paul I'm interested to know how much this costs at promax. am thinking about getting the same done to mine - wondering maybe about emc to do it.

it would be neat to do a before / after dyno run

Good news Paul and some relief I expect re bores. I too am interested in having this done at some point as a precaution, be interested to find any difference after the new valve guides/seals.
