The National Motor Museum at Beaulieu has been given notice its lease will not be renewed when it expires in 2030, leaving the Museum with its 280+ vehicles and other memorabilia looking for new premises..
The Montagu family, owns the Beaulieu estate and indicates it will continue to operate a motor museum on site alongside its other attractions. However, the bulk of the vehicles and extensive archives belong to the Museum and will presumably be gone. The Museum dates back to 1952 and I for one will miss it as I have fond memories of visiting it regularly with my Dad when I was a mere whipper snapper.
It remains to be seen whether the display festivals will continue, but their future will be of particular interest to 992 Register who have successfully represented our Club with a display of 911's at the Supercar weekend in the month of August for several years.
