Battery Replacement

Has anyone tried to replace the battery themselves. The stop/start function rarely works as my battery has no doubt lost some voltage and I don’t do that many miles. I know where to find the battery but do I need to get a dealer to reprogram the car afterwards or case the battery??
 
The battery does need coding to the car, otherwise the car does not know it is a new batter, & will continue to charge the new battery like the old one, ie overcharge it.
 
If you know someone who has a diagnostic tool such as an iCarsoft, that can be used to code a new battery to the car.

I’m in London so it looks like I’ll have to ask a dealer which is annoying. You’d think you’d be able to do a one for one swap…
 
Battery change and coding often comes up on the forum and local battery suppliers / independent garages can do the battery change with coding at far lower cost than OPC.

If you're car is under warranty check the warranty requirements in case you have to have a Porsche branded battery
