I need a bit of help boys and girls ( I'm sure there must be one here somewhere)
Does anyone know if you can buy the rubber dust cover for the ball joint on a late car.It looks like it is held on with a clip.My ball joint is in good nick but unfortunatley I hit the rubber with a hammer and burst it Long story involving hammers and questions from an onlooker.

Are these what you are looking for

Only thing is they are shipped from USA, but did the job for me

Looks like the kind of thing I need.Only thing is they are a different shape as mine are flatter. Thanks for the link mate

I just got complete new ball joints for my turbo off of fleabay for £9 each + postage. Apparently VW Scirocco ones are exactly the same. Got them yestaerday. They look the same but haven't offered them up yet. Can't see that it will be a problem though.

Early golf type ones will go straight on as noted above. Did one of mine years ago and hasn't caused a problem since but I was lucky and noted it within a week or two of getting a tiny split on the crease.

Are these rebuild kits for the aluminium arms you are talking about?
Just interested

I can find the ones on ebay for the early cars but not the later arms

Thanks boys! It's just the dust cover,I thought it might be a vw part but you have just confirmed for me. I hit the rubber with a hammer when i was spliting the spindles from the arms.Ball joints are in great nick though with no sign of wear so happy days.

I'm told VW parts do work, but I used these:

... which also work fine.
