Peter Bradley is the proud owner of one of Europe's largest collections of farm tractors and other industrial machinery, produced by Porsche. He has invited us to visit his works for a guided tour of these unusual machines.
Afterwards we will take a scenic tour through Derbyshire on some Forestry Commission roads, not normally open to the public, to visit the Ladybower and Derwent dams, used by 617 Squadron to train for the famous WW2 Dambusters raid. We will be able to enter the service tunnels inside the dams to see the construction and workings, and a museum dedicated to the Dambusters mission is nearby.
The outing will conclude with Sunday lunch at the Ladybower Inn.
Please phone Peter to book your place so he can organise catering etc. Work 0114 2369971, home 0114 2369798. We will meet at the Sheffield OPC, by 10.00 a.m. please.
