Hi all , as you are aware one of our members , Kevin Yeung is doing sterling work for UNICEF and has managed to get hotels in Hong Kong to start collecting in aid of this very worthwhile charity, see his message below
From Kevin
This Year, Victor and his like minded and warm hearted colleagues and fellow members of the Hong Kong Hotels Association (HKHA) and I came up with the "Change for Children" Hotel Fundraising Campaign to benefit UNICEF. HKHA has over 110 member hotels including all of Hong Kong's leading Hotels.
Over the past months, we along with our talented teams and colleagues and supporters worked tirelessly side by side to tackle the many challenges this meaningful project faced - together. We worked hard and pushed even harder - never giving up. We worked as one team and turned initial doubters into supporters and many quickly became advocates.
On Tuesday, I was proud to announce that starting from mid April member hotels of HKHA will take part in "Change for Children" Hotel Fundraising Campaign.
The participating hotels will encourage their guests to donate spare change (and bills) to support UNICEF's field work in ChinA and other developing countries, to help build a better world for the children.
The reception has been AMAZING right from the start 30 leading hotels will initiate our Change for Children project with a gradual roll out to the other participating hotels over the course of a year. *This project's sheer size and scope and popularity requires careful logistical execution.
The concept is brilliant as it is simple and effective "" and.... 100% SUSTAINABLE. *more than 2 million people visit Hong Kong from overseas every month and many stay at HKHA member hotels - who on average are running at near full capacities.
"Change for Children" is ultra donor friendly. Donation envelopes will be placed in hotel rooms. Guests and Hong Kong residents can also choose to place their donations into donation boxes located at the concierge or reception areas.
Change matters and every penny counts.
THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR ATTENTION!!!!
Hope you all dont mind this plug but it is a worthwhile charity and support for Kevin and his team is appreciated
