Anyone know this car ?

Hi,
hoping to view an S2 over the weekend , this will be my third S2 so I know the basic areas to check (learnt with my first one !). The car is allegedly an ex club car and has had a couple of plate changes, (would this put you off ?). Anyway its a 92 bridge spoiler model in black , reg now is J55RWC , previous J666MJM , J31VAC and VAT893 . Yet to see it but apparently full history at Evans Halshaw and last one at Parr Porsche.
Long shot I know but does it ring any bells , failing that any for sale in Cumbria ??

I don't know the car, but having lots of plate changes wouldn't put me off it. My own S2 had about 3 different plates through the '90s

I think this is the 4th time ive just chanced apon a 944 and bought it on a whime,ive got my 968 now so i really dont need the 944 but just looked like a nice little project to keep me occupied.

Have you 'HPId' it? In my opinion/experience PHSportscars registration plates equate to a 50/50 chance that the car has been repaired.

Didnt hpi it as its already on the V5 that its recorded as damaged in 2003.

Those sill covers would worry me, but then you bought it as a project so it doesn't matter. Enjoy.

Had the covers off today and while the sills have seen some welding and do need a bit more they are far better than i was expecting although it dosnt matter as i bought it as a parts car anyway.

Exactly what i thought,just cant imaging someone fitting it and standing back to admire their handy work and saying "yep that looks great".
The skirts/wheels have been on a while by the looks of it and other than that the car is standard and well looked after with a lot of the usual broken/missing items/parts still working and good condition so why someon fitted the shark fin and dodgy merc style vents to the sills is beyond me.

Perhaps its covering an equally errant aerial hole? Some people drill before thinking and connecting wires...

Thats what i thought but ive ripped it off and its actually a proper aerial and was connected up..

Is there a hole drilled through the roof?

Sometimes there is just no accounting for taste, but sounds like a good one.

Yep there is a hole in the roof plus another one drilled at the rear of the roof as well,the shark fin may of looked slightly better if it was fitted at the back although either way it made the car look like an upturned surfboard [].
Ive done some sums and althought the car has some strong/good points the numbers dont stack up to save .
