Does anyone remember this user? He owned a blue 2.7l which he tried to sell through the forum.

Did anyone here buy either the car or the 2.7l ECU chip that he was selling?

Simon

Do you have his address? He sold the chip to me, took my money and then sold it to you. He has deleted all of the pictures of his car, so I cant get the registered number, unfortunately. He lied about returning my money, which he stole.

Simon

I nearly bought the car, but after getting an inspection decided not to, I will have a look for any details I may have kept. I do know he did sell it a few weeks later, so plate number won't be of any use.

Search for the e-mail address and Vectra forums. Don't know if it will help get you any redress but it's the same person. [8|]

I really appreciate this. I was paying via direct transfer into his First Direct account. I was so busy at work that it took me quite a long time. He sent a message saying that hed give me a week to send the money then advertise it again and I made the transfer the next day, only to find that hed re-advertised the chip on the same day. Im guessing that he sent the chip to Dave because he could reverse his payment, whereas I coudnt. He promised to refund me, but then didnt...

I was looking for the registered number because I will be able to get the keepers details from the DVLA (either for the 944 or for the current vehicle if its cherished).

Simon

He sent me a message at the time that he'd not heard from you at all despite sending you several emails.

Turns out that was bullshhhh and he's ripped you off, leave it with me with try my best to get some details given the circumstances.

Can you roughly remember the date?

I kept in touch with him Dave, but I deleted the one remaining message that Id saved the other day, to clear my PM box. I have the bank paying in stub with the exact date on, which I'll find tomorrow.

Simon

Sorry, it seems I paid via bank transfer too so can't give you anymore details than you probably have.

Would First Direct do a chargeback for you?

simon, sorry to hear that you have been ripped off, and from someone who was a regular forum user up until fairly recently, having your trust abused is a hard one to swollow and hope you can get your money back, ant b if your reading this somehow, very naughty and wheres your integrety? do the right thing and pay the man, cheers jason p

Dave, Jason, thanks. I paid the money over the counter at an HSBC branch (not my own), so I cant see how they would.

Pauls Vectra tip has got me on his trail. I know which county he lives in and I know what his house looks like. If I stumped up the money for some 192.com-time I could cross reference the elctoral role addresses with Google StreetView, although Id sooner not have to spend any more money.....

Keep on the case Simon, in this modern day of info on the web there's usually a way of finding what you need for free somewhere. Don't let the bugger get away with it, too many people lack any integrity/morals anymore sadly.

Best of luck, if any of us can help (2 brains better than 1 etc.) then I for 1 am willing to offer, and I'm sure I wouldn't be the only one.

Mike

I'll second Mike's comments; keep at it. While he can get away with it he will, and being bought to book by an angry victim may make him think twice before he does it again.

Posting a picture of the house on PH with a well-written thread may get a precise address. For free, too.

Oli.
