alternators

No. early/series one and late/series two. 90amp and 115amp and the series one cars have a five run drive belt, whereas the series two cars have a six run drive belt. S2 is nothing to do with series two btw, theyre built from September 1985 for the 1986 model year >.

Yes, but its on the list to suit series one cars. My series one car has a series two 115a alternator fitted, complete with the six run drive pulley, but I cant remember if theres more adaption required. I didnt do this - if I had itd have the correct pulley too!

Simon, What do you mean by a 'five run' and 'six run' drive belt? Thanks for the info about the Ford alternator. Surely if you can fit a series 2 alternator to your series 1 car then you can fit a series 1 alternator (and therefore a ford one) to a series 2 car? Or isn't it that simple? Oli.
