There have been quite a few enquiries across the forum concerning alternative warranties, many seem very good and UVW is said to include wear and tear items, Warranty Wise are another mentioned and used by others but what have been the results of any claims made?
I have no wish to advertise or denegrate any of the offered warranties since many want different things from a warranty. For instance no foreign cover or no courtesy car etc.
I'm just wanting to get a useful reference for anyone here to consult since I have the Porsche warranty but what are the advantages or not of the alternative warranty companies?
Porsche assist insists on only Porsche OEM parts being used, covers across Europe and if breakdown is included it seems a good level of cover, it does not cover wear and tear items, original Moll batteries are not covered but are insisted on as the fitment as are OEM wiper blades. A courtesy car will be supplied and the car normally will be collected, Various items can be delted to reduce the cost. Modifications are generally not allowed unless using OEM parts such as Tequipment items. Warranty can be taken out for one or two years and a renewal is at a reduced rate, you have to pay for the inspection at £180+VAT each time the warranty is renewed. You can only renew up until 8 or 9 years depending on the term and the final warranty expires at the car reaching 10 years of age or 120,000miles? Whichever comes first.
How do the others compare ?
