Alarm Question

Hi Guys
On the 996 forum there was a question about an alarm going off "for no apparent reason" and the answer involved the fact that the alarm has a "tilt" sensor on it, does the standard 944 ('89 2.7) alarm have one and if so were is it?
Any ideas gratefully received!
Thanks

Tilt sensors are always incorporated into the control unit, as opposed to being a separate feature; if that helps?

Thats what I thought, but the 996 alarm appears to have one under the the battery and it fills with water and sets the thing off when it rains, something that happens with mine, any other ideas?

Mine went off without stopping the other day. Tried all the fuses and everything aside from disconnecting the battery to give the neighbours a good night's sleep. Ended up leaving it unlocked overnight, thankfully there the next day!

Turned out to be the ultrasonic processing unit, a little black box next to the battery...it was filled with water! I never use the alarm so pulled it out and tied up the loose cables, no more alarm going off! I'll replace it if I find a replacement but am not bothered for now.

The give away was that the interior lights were flashing when the alarm went off, this means water ingress to the ultrasonic control box.

Hope this helps, I know how frustrating it can be!! []
