Advice please..
I have just changed the disks and pads at the front tonight. I noticed I have a bit of a leak on the lower hose. I take it this is the return from the radiator as after a run it is cool to touch and pressurised.

Is this a common fault? Can it be tightened at all? I have forgotten the name of that type of clip but it does not look like it could be replaced with a different adjustable type... Or can it?

I believe it's a known issue ... Is the car under warranty ? Better to consult your dealer / service contact ... asap ...
 
Hi Archie, It looks more like a circlip-type clamp rather than the Clic-type which is used generally on coolant hoses. Whatever, it doesn't look as though it's adjustable so you'll probably have to replace it with a Jubilee if you need to cure the leak. Thankfully, it appears as though the leak is coming from the joint rather than the radiator itself (a common fault I'm afraid). Maybe the application of jointing compound would be sufficient to stop the leak. Good luck fixing it. Jeff
 
Jeff... I wondered if I could cut off the clip/clamp/whatever it is and replace with an adjustable one? It looks like the hose goes into a plastic housing and I wasn't sure if it would shatter if I tried to clamp it. To be honest, it might rubber as well, I will need to have a better look. Regards.
