Advice on a Rotten Floor

Hi Guys,

Recently had a problem where I was driving along followed by a loud bang and some rear wheel lock up. I manged to reverse the car and get it moving again after ditching off the road. Managed to nurse it home. On inspection the brake cable has fallen through the floor. I ran my finger along and can feel the interior carpet behind the drivers seat. Flicked around and can't find any metal just the plastic liner inside the car under the carpet. A previous owner seems to have applied a rubberized coating on the bottom of the car so has hidden the issue. It's probably everywhere especially on the drivers side. I'm over by Hertford in Hertfordshire, any guidance or recommendations on where to start with this?

It's the hand brake cable. Kinda doesn't do anything now. It did try and lock up the rears again after the first attempt at getting it home.

What you have shown is a fairly easy repair but if it’s gone there then I would expect bottom of arches and sills to be toast.

I would do a deeper investigation before deciding what to do!
