Adjusting the rear glass hatch

Hi,
Ive worked out that some of the wind noise over my left should is due to the rear hatch not being exactly in the right place. I would say it is only about 2 or 3 mm out but it does not compress the rubber enough to make a wind tight seal. I have removed the rear headliner in the car and found the bolts I need to undo to move it . My question is......is it really this simple? I can see problems with the hatch pins becoming out ofd alignment. Do you make the adjustment with the reat hatch open or closed? Has anyone done thsi before? If so can you pass on any tips?
Regards
Jason

You've pretty much covered it. You need to do it closed but ideally with the pins out, or you can lock it down and not get it open !

Or, as I ended up doing, take the catches out as my pins are siezed

I would recommend new latch pins (about £25 a pair from Frazer Part). While your at it I would also strip out the catches as they get full of crud and also check the drain pipes. you should know when its sealed properly, you won't smell exhaust fumes [:'(]
