ADAC Membership.

Hi all, does anyone have the phone number for adac membership? Is there now a UK number/office? Thanks in anticipation chaps.[:D]

The number to call is the German office on 0049 1805 10 11 12. There isn't a UK office as far as I know. When you call ask to speak to an English speaking staff member.

The membership forms can all be downloaded in English below. However, I notice it says you need to be a German resident to apply with the forms (I assume because you need a German bank account for DD), or call the number if you live in another country - this is a new thing since I applied several years ago. I guess if you call you can pay by credit/debit card.

well worth it - and includes uk cover

they recovered my honda back to the uk from the ring after a gearbox bearing failed a couple of years back

Far easier to join now than it was. Excellent service and price, but I didn't re-join due to the massive PITA.

and don't call for assistance more than twice in one year in the UK.....or they will only re-cover you with Germany only cover.....ask how I found out when stranded!!!!

I never knew about that. They do have a recovery cost vs. car value formulae though, and damaged cars have been left in Adenau in the past, much to their owners surprise/disgust. Good for Lizard Logistics though...

I think that's also the same for aa or rac etc.. simon.

when my honda broke, several people gave me dire warnings that adac would never recover such an old / cheap car.

they sorted it without any problem at all. it arrived back a few weeks later on a huge transporter. (we got a lift back)

Exactly the same Ed, although Id expect far fairer treatment from ADAC. More of an issue for people who break down in the Portugal or Italy than the Ardennes/Eifel.
