A 944 Turbo S question

Im off to look at one for sale on Sunday, am I right in thinking they came with a cloth interior? only the one im going to see has a cream leather interior, has it been changed ??

Mine was a loud checked cloth with burgundy vinyl. Later M758 cars were available in colours other than Rose Silver, with a sunroof and with leather. Ive only ever seen black leather myself though.

The option number for a proper 1988 model year 944 Turbo S is M758, as I mentioned above. If the car is a Turbo S then itll have this option code on the sticker in the boot and on the first inner page of the service book.

If neither is available then the options may be able to be brought up if you post the VIN.

There were a number of non- Silver Rose Turbo S's made in 1988 - I have one. Basically if you got the order quickly enought you could have a Turbo S but in the colour scheme you selected rather than the weird tartan pink interior !

Turbo S's never came with a sunroof, if it has the sunroof it should be an SE which is in fact just the same spec, although mine has the fordged CS alloys & it has blue leather.

Hope this helps [;)]

It does, I have just checked the pictures and it does not have a sunroof [:)]

I wouldn't place too much importance on the sunroof delete unless you plan to track the car. To my mind a Silberrose should be just that, everything that followed was subject to the whim of whoever ordered it.

My black Turbo S originally came with black cloth pinstripe, comfort not sport seats, now fitted with black Recaro CS Seats and black vinyl rears which never get used.

This is a link to it. http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C198231

Well I went to view it today and it did not light my fire its been a track hack in the past, there are still mounting points under the carpet in the rear. The sills have been done and are rust free with a receipt for genuine parts but its also full of filler done badly. On top of that it vibrated quite noticably (sat in the car) on tickover and the was quite a bit of rattling coming from the gear linkage.

I decided to pass on this one.

Yeah that Turbo S has been up for a while now, i saw the add whilst searching for mine & just by looking at the photo's it looked abit rough!!!

It was up for £6500 on eBay 3 months ago & i think i even offered him £6000 without even viewing it, so pleased he didn't accept now [:)]

Must admit i was encouraging Totty to take a look at that car when he was looking for one as it sounded right !
Paul never offer money without seeing the car beforehand []
Oh well the search continues [;)]

Well i say i offered the money it was more of would you accept an offer if the car is what you say it is as i wasn't prepared to travel all that way without some sort of agreement !!! [;)]

From all accounts it sounds like abit of a dog so he would of been looking at £4500 from myself !!! [:-]

Hey Totty, you ever take the 944 to work? Am sure I've seen a 944 in and around the Autoparc on Sandy lane.

Nope it didnt light my fire, however I did see another car today as well which has certainly been the most honest looking car yet. The vendor waas not about for me to test drive the car but I did get to see it inside and out so im off back down to see it again tomorrow[:D]

Yes i do, try just to take it now & again to keep the miles down & just when it's sunny [:D]

The gear lever rattle is probably down to that aftermarket gearknob, bet it doesn't have the rubber of a standard one - I tried a similar one once, took it back immediately as it sounded awful!
