997 Flat spot

There is a definite flat spot around 3500 revs on my S. The OPC have said that it is caused by the valve timing and inlet changes that happen around this point. I'm wondering if this is experienced by all owners and whether anything can be done to reduce the effect (apart from keeping above those revs!)
 
This is where the Variocam kicks in, sometimes you can actually feel the adjustment occuring. I found it much more noticable in the 996 than in the 997.

If you have the option of sport mode, try using that. The accellerator setting takes a little getting used to at first, but once you adapt to it, it's great and it gets rid of the flat spot (at least I no longer am aware of it).
