997.2 Turbo S exhaust

It's a significant investment, but makes sense on high value models like yours.
It is unlikely to adversely affect residual value significantly - may even enhance it. [
Alternatively, retain the original system to refit it when you come to sell. Your after-market replacement will still have reasonably value.
Whatever you decide, please keep us posted. [

Here is my 997.2 Turbo Coupe with SharkWerks XPipe exhaust.

With a bit of experimenting i find playing both at the same time in different windows of your browser does a nice job of overlaying the sound so you get a direct comparison.
It has transformed the car from one which creeps past people in town without them turning to see what they have (not) heard to a car which creeps up on people as they turn to see what they have heard coming. There is no drone at any level. Just lovely NA sound.

I've just had the Sharkwerks X-pipe installed on my 997.2 turbo and I'm delighted with it. It's very similar in sound to the PSE I used to have on my 997 C4S. I was put off by the price of the Europipe and Akropovic systems (the Sharkwerk's was £1500 fitted by the wonderful DW Performance - speak to Kev). There's zero drone at motorway speeds and it provides a wonderful NA-type deep burble at lower revs, with the classic flat six howl higher up the revs. I'm extremely pleased with the results.
Regarding resale value, I'm hanging onto my original system and will offer that to any future buyer should they want an original spec car. I think you should be fine with just an exhaust system. However, once you start going down a remap route you may then start getting a few raised eyebrows and people walking away. As far as I know, remaps will always show on the computer system, even if they're reversed prior to sale (I'll be interested to know if I'm wrong on this).

PS. Where are you based? I'd be happy to let you hear the sound of my Sharkwerks if you're close to London.
