997.1 Brake Pipe Corrosion

Its been flagged by my local independent that the brake pipes over the engine and subframe will need replacing ( corroded ) .. The pipes themselves are relatively inexpensive but the labour is a different story . After seeking a bit more advice 2 separate garages have said it may be possible and they have in the past got around the heavy labour costs by replacing the corroded in sections .. Has anyone had this done .. i know its a common issue and cutting pipes isn't ideal but then neither is £1200 labour cost .

I recently had ALL pipes external to the body replaced with copper, including the short caliper pipes. This is everything except the pipes in the front trunk which all terminate in a block on the front inner wing. They had to replace quite a few of the plastic pipe clips (brittle and broken). Done by a local garage, not a Porsche specialist. They charged for 14 hours plus £102 +VAT for pipe and fittings. I spent another £60 on pipe clips from my OPC. All cross body pipes were correctly routed above the steering rack and gearbox. It was not easy, but they did a tidy job.
